ADMISSION PROCEDURE

All Diploma Courses are affiliated to the board of Technical Education Maharashtra State. The Syllabi for these courses are as prescribed by the Board.

1. APPLICATION FORM :
ALL ADMISSIONS ARE DONE ONLINE THROUGH CENTRALISED ADMISSION PROCESS (CAP) CONDUCTED BY DIRECTOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION MUMBAI. VACANCIES IF ANY AFTER CAP PROCESS IS FILLED AT INSTITUTION LEVEL BY INVITING APPLICATIONS. An Application for admission in prescribed form shall be supplied on payment Rs.200/- only from the office of Principal, Nagar Parishad Polytechnic, Achalpur. .

2. NOMINCLATURE OF COURSES :
a. Diploma in Automobile Engineering -30 Seats
b. Diploma in Civil Engineering          -60 Seats
c. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering -60 Seats
d. Diploma in Computer Engineering-60 Seats
e. Diploma in Electronics & TeleComm. Engineering-60 Seats

3. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION :
1. a)Application for admission in prescribed for should be submitted to the Principal of this Polytechinic as notified.
    b)Candidate is advised to see that his application form for admission reaches the Principal of this Polytechnic by person or through post before notified last date. No application form will be accepted for whatsoever reason after due date and complaints for one or other reason will not be entertained.

2.  The application must be in the candidate's own handwriting and must state clearly to which of the course admission is desired.

Rules For Admission to Diploma Course in Polytechnic in Maharashtra State

(A) GENERAL
The Rules shall apply for admission to the Diploma Courses conducted in Government/aided/unaided institutes in the State of Maharashtra.
The candidates seeking admission to the Diploma Course and qualified to apply shall submit their application complete in all respect in the prescribed printed form together with necessary documents to the Principal of polytechnic so as to reach to him on or before 5 p.m. of the notified last date
The choice of course in order of preference for which application is submitted should be indicated clearly in the relevent column of the application and the application shall not be taken in to consideration for the courses for which choice is not indicated in the application.
All rules of the admission are as notified by Director Tehnical Education Mumbai for admission. Detail of rules are availabele in office.

(B)QUALIFYING EXAMINATION AND ELIGIBILITY
For admission to the first year diploma course the candidate must have passed Seconadry School Certificate Examination of Maharashtra state Board of Secondary Education, Pune or any other equivalent examination with
1) General Science or Physics and Chemistry.
2) Elementary Mathematics or Algebra and Geometry. 3) English with at least 35% marks in aggregate from recognised school in Maharashtra State only.

Domicile:
a) Unless provided in these rules, the admission to diploma course are open to the candidate of the state of Maharashtra, who have learnt in any recognised institution in Maharashtra for at least two proceding academic years of the qualifying examination. That much may be sufficient proof of domicile in Maharashtra for purpose of admission unless the situation so warrants.
b) Sons / Daughters of the employee of Govt. of India or undertaking of Govt. of India shall be eleigible for the admission, provided that the gaurdian of such candidate shall be domiciled in any other state or union territory but he must have been transferred to Maharashtra state within two proceding academic years, have joined the post and have not been transferred out of Maharashtra. The duration for two years shall be counted prior to the date of receipt of application.
c) Sons/ Daughters of person domiciled in the Maharashtra will also be eligible for admission even if they have passed the qualifying examination and/or two preceing academic years of qualifying examination from out side the state. A domicile certificate in respect of father and where the father of the candidate is not alive or divorced and the candidate is staying with mother, mother's domicile certificate shall be produced.

Nationality:
Unless provided in these rules the candidate must be Indian national.

Age limit for Admission:
There shall not be age limit for admission.

Reservation:
Institution level reservation.
1). Backward classes:
The following percentage of seats of the intake capacity shall be reserved for the candidate belonging to the backward classes.
a) Schedule Caste including those convert to Buddism SC -13
b) Schedule tribe including those residing outside the specified area. ST -7
c) Denotified tribes (specified 14 and similar tribes) DT -3
d) Nomadic tribes (pre-January-1990 and similar tribes) NT-1 -2.5
e) Nomadic tribes (dhangar and similar tribes as per list) NT-2 -3.5
f) Nomadic tribes (wanjari and similar tribes as per list) NT-3 -2
g) Other Backward Classes OBC -19

Note: Candidates claiming to belong to categories (e),(f)and(g) above will have to furnish certificate from appropriate authority that candidates parent does not belong to creamy layer as per the requirement of the Government. Reservation for the other levels such as physically handicapped, defence personel, female candidates, technical candidates, outside state candidates etc are availabel as per Govt. rules.

Selection:
A) Selection for admissionshall be made strictly on the basis of inter-se-merit of the candidate. the inter-se-merit will be determined after taking into account the amrks obtained at the S.S.C examination or equivalent examination as per prescribed by Govt.
B) The Principal of the Polytechnic/Institutes concerned shall be responsible for effecting the admission in accordance with these rules subject to overall supervision of the Director of Technical Education Maharashtra State.

Procedure for Admission:
Candidates considered for admission will be informed by post to their address as mentioned in application form. Detail schedule of admission will ne displayed on the notice board on the last date of submission of application. Candidates will be admitted strictly as per inter-se-merit and category. Candidates are advised to personally verify detailed admission schedule on the notice board on the last date of submission of form.
Delay or non receipt of admission call by post will not be considered . Eligible candidates are required to deposit original documents and fees at the time of admission. If the candidates do not report at time of admission his candidature will be considered as null and void and admission will be offered to the next candidate. Candidate reporting late will be admitted to the course depending upon availability of seats at the time of his report. Candidates admitted against CAP vacancies are not elligible for fee concession.
